Our second annual retreat with the Rossi lab from the Italian Institute of Technology was held in Matlock in the Peak District. Mixed groups from both labs gave talks and pitched joint project ideas, while a game of PI bingo kept everyone listening closely for their PI’s favourite phrases. We spent a day walking from Bretton through Eyam and Abney, where the Peak District lived up to its reputation for rain, before drying off at Chatsworth House.
